Our most recent trip was to Thailand, where we spent part of our time in Bangkok and then went up to Chiang Mai. It was a little harder to get away from it all, as we didn't have a full grasp of the language, but we still managed to do some off-the-beaten-path on a jungle trek. Unlike the name of this site, we did need a guide for that part of the trip.
